Last Bit of Summer

Soon this will have to be put in the garage for the winter season. Just a bit too cold for banana trees in Middle Tennessee. This morning it was in the high 50's.
Guess laying by the pool soaking in the sun is rapidly going to be a thing of the past till spring again in 2009... SNIFF! SNIFF! SOB!

BUT this means HALLOWEEN is just around the corner! Greatly decreased electric bills for a time... Though this year they are raising the rates by 20% so hope of cash staying in our pockets is pretty much a pipe dream...

We've been in the low 30's for the past few weeks...I AM NOT ready for my flowers to freez..or my garden for that matter, the cucumbers have been too yummy!

That banana looks great! Still over 115 degrees here (Doha, Qatar) everyday! We have 2 bananas in the backyard. With intensive watering they survived the summer, but aren't looking very good. We are hoping our "cooler" weather this Fall and Winter will bring them back. I'm about ready to plant tomato seeds. Did that last year and had tomatoes from Dec to May. Am looking forward to moving back to the US next summer and experiencing Fall (but not winter!).
